The Pacettes'

2011
Scholarship Luncheon

The Pacettes held its closing event for Spring 2011 on May 21st, 2011.  The event was an adventure through Carrollton and Farmers Branch on the new metro light rail.  Pacette members and their mothers competed for prizes by answering questions, performing challenges, and completing tasks.  After the race the girls and their mothers were served a delicious lunch and dessert by members of PACE and the community honoring the girls for such an excellent year of service.

That special date that we have all been waiting for finally came.  The PACE 2011 Scholarship Luncheon was held April 16, 2011 at Brookhaven Country Club.  The country club is located at 3333 Golfing Green in Dallas.

There were musical selections from two very outstanding young people who showcased their talents for the PACE members and guests.  Christopher Wilson sang and played "The Impossible Dream". Adrienne Walker honored us with an operatic selection.  Adrienne is one of PACE's scholarship recipients this year.

The fashions for the fashion show this year was provided by Angela Woods of Double Take Designs and fashions from the models' own wardrobes.

To top it all off, we had a very stirring speech given by Mrs. Dorthery West.  Mrs. West was introduced to us by one of our members, Jana Prince.  Mrs. West gave us an inspiring message drawn from her own past.  Guests said they were all very moved by her message.

Vendors this year included merchants showing clothing, hats, purses, jewelry, cosmetics, art work, and insurance services.

PACE Fundraiser

The PACE Multi-family Garage Sale was held on Saturday, April 30 at the home of member Tracey Richardson,.  The weather threatened to rain most of the day which limited traffic for the event, but we still made a nice little profit from the sale of electronics, clothing, and household goods. But the best part of the garage sale was the camaraderie shared by the members of PACE during and after the event.

March 2011 General Meeting

The March meeting of PACE was held on Sunday, March 10th at the  Carrollton Josey Ranch Library.  The meeting was led by Vice-President Arlene Beasley and began at 3PM.  Plans for the upcoming luncheon, the garage sale, and the Pacettes Amazing Race were discussed.

The scholarship luncheon plans were finalized down to the last detail.  Ticket sales were also discussed.  Tracey Richardson passed out the final draft of the program which brought up the need to go over the program in detail. With a few elements being changed and others eliminated, the program was finalized and approved for printing.

The meeting adjoined at 5PM.
