PACE 2014 Scholarship Luncheon
The annual Scholarship Luncheon, the major fundraiser for scholarship for deserving African-American senior girls, was held on April 19, 2014 at the Brookhaven Country Club in Farmers Branch, Texas. This year marks the 30th anniversary of PACE and was celebrated by featuring a parade of hats at the luncheon.
The luncheon menu was enjoyed by members and guests and it was super delicious.
Approximately 12 members and guests participated in a contest to see which lady had the best hat. The prize for the most spectacular one, $100 worth of spa services at Grand Spa International was won by Geraldine Hooker.
First Lady of Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church, Mrs Robert Townsend, graciously consented to allow PACE to use some of her miniature hat creations as centerpieces. They were simply stunning. Below is a picture of one of the centerpieces.
March 2014 Meeting
The March meeting was devoted almost entirely to discussing the Scholarship Luncheon and the events leading up to it, including the Recipient's Reception, which will be held at the Brookhaven Country Club on Sunday, April 13, 2014 between 4 and 5PM. Recipients and their parents are invited to meet the members of PACE.
2014 PACE Scholarship Luncheon and Fashion Show
This year marks the 30th anniversary of PACE. The Annual Luncheon plans are being finalized by committee members. It will be held at the Brookhaven Country Club, 3333 Golfing Green Dr, in Farmers Branch, TX on April 19, 2014.

There will be a Parade of Hats with PACE members and guests modeling their favorite hats. A prize will be awarded for the most spectacular ones.

To commemorate the 30th anniversary, PACE is developing a souvenir booklet outlining the rich history of PACE. You can be a part of this souvenir booklet by purchasing ad space or simply by being a patron. Rates and terms can be found by clicking on this link.

January 2014 Meeting
The January meeting was held at the Josey Ranch Lake Branch of the Carrollton Public Library on January 12, 2014. Agenda items were approved and adopted. Items included the reading of the last meeting which was held by teleconference, the financial report, the Pacettes' report, the Historian Report including an update on the Read-In. Lillie Lawrence brought in sample miniature hat samples loaned to her by the First Lady of her church, Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church, Mrs. Robert Townsend. Luncheon chairperson Cecilia will be contacted to see if the miniature hats could be used. Meeting was adjourned with all agenda items accounted for.
December 2013 Meeting
Because of extreme weather conditions, the December meeting, scheduled for December 8, 2013 was cancelled. Instead, a call meeting was held via conference call later in the month. Agenda items included the reading of the minutes from the last meeting, the financial report, the Pacettes' Report, the Historian Report, and an update on the African Read-In. Dates were confirmed for the annual fellowship service in January. Location will be sent out by Member Jana Prince.
October 2013 Birthday Celebration
The October birthday event was celebrated at The Cheesecake Factory in NorthPark.
There was only one member who had a birthday that month - Member Tracey. Happy birthday, Tracey - Oh, that's me!!! PACE's webmaster. Thanks all for the birthday dinner.

PACE 2013 Membership Rush
PACE held its annual Membership Rush on Sunday, September 29, 2013 at Josey Ranch Library in Carrollton. We welcomed several prospective members and our newest member Yvette Walker. We had one person to join as a result of our Rush, Eva Crawford. Welcome to both of you ladies.

Annual Planning Meeting
The Annual Planning Meeting was held at member Roxanne Foster's house on August 3, 2013.
Executive Board Meeting
The PACE 2013 - 2014 year began with the Executive Board Meeting on Sunday, July 14, 2013 at 3:00 PM at the Josey Ranch Library. The President, Rachel Lewis shared with the board her goals and aspirations for the upcoming year. The tentative calendar for the upcoming year was adopted and was presented to the membership at the annual planning meeting.
