The PACE Scholarship Recipients Reception was held Saturday, April 9, 2011 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Willie Davis. Mrs. Davis is a member of the PACE organization. Refreshments were enjoyed by PACE members and the recipients and their parents and family. We thoroughly enjoyed meeting the young ladies and hearing about their goals and aspirations. Several want to go into the medical field. One is an opera singer and has won several awards for her talents. We wish all of the young ladies the very best in their college careers and in their lives. For pictures of the day's festivities, click this link.

The December meeting was held on December 11th in the home of member Tracey Richardson. After the general business meeting was over, there was a Christmas party where fun, games, food, and drinks were enjoyed by all in attendance. A gift exchange was also held where everyone who participated received a lovely gift in exchange for one they had brought.
________________________ PACE held a fundraiser at Chili's on January 17th. We invited our friends and families to join us at the restaurant. The restaurant donated 10% of the sales from our meals to the to PACE for our scholarship fund. Another fundrasier PACE is planning is a February garage sale without all the work. We bring our recyclable items to donate and Bubb and his crew gives PACE a price for the items there on the spot. The date is set for February 25 between 9 AM and 1 PM at Northside Baptist Church, 2000 Denton Drive in Carrollton. For a list of suggested donation items, click on link to the Bubb website www.bubbfundraising.com. Proceeds benefit the PACE scholarship fund. In addition to the above two fundraisers, PACE is having a cookbook fundraiser. Recipes are being solicited from PACE members and others in the community in order to make this cookbook really unique and an item to be cherished with recipes that will become favorites of all who try them. Recognition is being given to each recipe submitter. The cost of the cookbook will be $18 presale and $20 at the luncheon and afterwards. Click here for a flyer with more details.
